(Tuesday, May 1, 2007) The Rotary Club of Jonesboro recognized Craighead County's cream of the teaching crop. Eleven elementary school teachers received Golden Apple Awards for their work in the Jonesboro, Valley View, Nettleton, Bay, Westside and Brookland school districts. I was surprised when Thom Beasley mention PP Harry Puddephatt and the origins of the award.
Rusty Clark made a good point about the awards hanging on the classroom walls since the teacher's office is the classroom most of the day.
